Setup questions....NEED YOUR INPUT

I've got a 56F100 on a 80s F150 frame. As you can see it has the TIB. I need your input on how I can put this together. End goal is to be 4x4 with parts I have on hand.

I've got a 460 with C6. I'd like to put a 6 inch lift and 35" tires on it. Thinking 4:10 gears. Will be a daily driver that I may sling mud in every once in a while.

Will the Dana 44TTB bolt in? What kind of fab will I have to do?

What transfer case should I use?

You might have better luck getting answers from the 80-86 site. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum37/

I was thinking the same thing as that's where I hang out mostly, I have an 81 F100 flare side I am rebuilding.

I have not done any of this only what I have seen posted over there.
Short answers they never put a 460 in a F150 but it can be done with Ford parts. You will need to get the frame stands from a F250 or F350 to bolt the motor to the cross member. Someone may sell a kit but I don't know as I never looked into a 460 in mine.
edit: just remembered the oil filter will hit the frame so you need to relocate it, the 250/350 the frame has a notch cut for it.

Not sure on the transfer case, someone over in the 80-86 area should be able to help, but I do know if that C6 is not from a 4x4 you will need to have the out put shaft changed to a 4x4 one and to do that you need to rebuild the C6. The output shaft is the last to come out and the first to go in on a rebuild.

On the 4x4 stuff from what I have seen posted you can bolt in 4x4 parts from alike truck, 150 to 150, 250 to 250 etc.
Now the lift gets tricky as you will need to use a kit with drop brackets for the radius arms, TTB pivot and steering pitman arm to name a few up front & think blocks out back.
You will also need to install caster / camber adjusters on the ball joints and hope you can get it dialed in.

When you ask over on the other side if you know the year of the frame you are using and the 4x4 parts you want to use will help them answer the questions.
Good luck

BTW is that a 300 six in there, looks like it could be?
If so would it have AC brackets bolted to the left side by the PS pump?
If so when the time comes would you want to sell them? I have been looking for 300 six AC brackets.
Thanks

You're probably right. I was hoping to catch someone that has done this swap to their 56 F100 as well.

I almost wonder if you would be time and money ahead if you found an '80's F250 4x4 and put your body on the F250 frame? Change your fabbed body mounts from the F150 to the F250 frame?
Seems like the way I might at least think about. But I just got on here and don't have the full story....so good luck!

I've thought about that. Because then if I find a good donor I can harnest other parts like AC, etc. But honestly I don't have the tools or space to do that big of a swap. I can also get the TTB for like $150 bucks
