FX4 Shocks.
Should there be Ranchos with the FX4 package? Should they be white and say Rancho with the FX4 package (like those commercially available)?
I never paid much mind to mine until today when I was under the rear and installing air bags. I realized that the shocks are black with no particular brand identification.

I did find some info on the ford parts sites that shows different part numbers for the 2018 FX4 and regular depending on which options you have. I don't think they would catalog a completely different shock part number and have it be the same. Waste of money so I think there is a difference, not sure what it is though between the FX4 and the regular shocks.

The rancho's were a Ford shock with a Rancho label added to it. Marketing gimic and little else. Most that were on those trucks were quickly replaced by owners due to poor ride. Ford went back to the black shocks last year with the 18's. I bought a 2017 left over recently that has the Ranchos on and will be swapping for Bilistiens or Fox here soon for better ride. Also note the rubber mounts degrade easily and is visible on both black and white "ranchos".
