PCM rebuild and repair recommendation ?
Took my 2001 CA model DPC-452 in to the dealer to get a reflash and they were unable to do so because it had a hard error code. ( likely from shorting out a tool against the alternator with the key in the run position )
Goggle search turns up several PCM repair and return vendors and I am looking for reviews or endorsements from fellow 7.3 owners that have had a pcm repaired.
these guys have an attractive price but other then that I know nothing about them.

on the other end of the spectrum is a Rebuilt unit that comes already programmed.

There was a post on here about a year ago, maybe less where a FTE'r had been through several PCM refurbishment shops and re-sellers. The information on the sellers is detailed.
I tried to find it, but couldn't remember who it was or when it was. Since PCM is a common term, there were a lot of results.
I will try to look for it again when I have a bit more time later today if you haven't found it.

I’ve used SIA, I found them on EBay, $175. I fried my PCM when the chip came loose on my truck. I sent my PCM to them in a waterproof hard case I purchased from Walmart. They got it on a Tuesday, tested by Thursday and called me Friday morning. Unfortunately they could not fix it and asked if I wanted it back. I said yeah and they sent it back in less than week. I figured I was out $175 and started to contemplate what to do next. They sent the PCM back in the hard case I sent it to them AND only charged me $19 for the diagnostic and return shipping! I would recommend them to anyone!
I eventually found Module Experts out of Florida IIRC. I spoke with Chris who said all the right things, they can fix what others can’t . I should send my PCM to them turnaround time would be about 5 business days. After 15 days later I was still trying to get my PCM back from them, Chris would not return my phone calls nor my emails, add another 15 days to that and I finally got my PCM back. I put it in the truck immediately and the truck would turn over, no wait to start light no glow plugs it would just spin but would not catch. I put the original E99 PCM in the truck and immediately fired and ran perfectly. I called Chris and he said it was the IDM. I told him he was full of crap and that the truck started immediately with the early 99 PCM installed. I sent it back and it was another five weeks before I got the PCM. I gave them the entire PCM code that I wanted built, he told me that would not work in my truck. I told him that’s what I was running before the chip came loose, and I knew/know it works!
They charged $100 for the diagnostic and if I bought a replacement PCM from them that hundred dollars would go towards the new PCM. It took over two months to get one that worked and I’ve been running ever since. Looking back at that experience I would just buy a new one from Ford and order exactly what I wanted. I would not use them again.
