Two years ago, I bought a 2011 F-150 XL Super Cab 2WD with a 5.0. The truck had 76,000 miles, and I bought it to use as a second vehicle on some acreage I own in the country. The truck was in excellent condition, and I didn't have any issues with it whatsoever. I paid $12,000 for it when I bought it. Recently, I decided to put my land for sale, so I no longer need the truck. I listed it on Craigslist two weeks ago for $12,800, and immediately had numerous inquiries. A man came to look at it yesterday, decided that he wanted it, and asked if I would take $12,000. I told him the price was non-negotiable, and he immediately his bank to get a cashier's check for the $12,800 I was asking. These trucks hold their value very well. Never would I have thought that I would buy a truck, use it, and sell it two years later for more than I paid for it.
Very good Corey! As I remember when you bought the truck, you got an amazing deal on it two years ago so this fella that bought it from you probably actually paid what it's worth. Either way you're a winner on this one an that's all that matters.
Thanks Tim! I'm very happy with how this turned out. The older gentleman who bought the truck was tickled to death with it. In talking to him, I found out he and his wife have a had a rough go as of late. She's been battling cancer, afib, and her 1 year old car was hit by another driver and totaled. While all of this is going on, someone made an illegal U-turn in front of the husband while he was driving his truck to work. His truck was also totaled. Two vehicles in one month totaled, and neither he nor his wife were at fault. I'm glad he got a good and reliable truck, as he and his wife have been through a lot lately.
