For me deciding factor was the interior, liked the KR better.

Yes 18" wheels ride better and have a higher weight carrying capacity. But definitely get a F350, not a F250. There isn't enough payload available in an F250 to justify the Super duty. I love my F350 KR Crew Cab long box. Rides as good as my tundra did (last 1/2 ton truck). My wife uses the multi contour seats ten to one to me but I use the ventilated feature year round to combat the stuck feeling after being in the truck for over an hour even living in upstate NY.

Definitely a to each their own kind of situation. I love the black leather and grill on my 17 Platinum, personally I’ve always found the leather color in the KR way too over the top in color.
Both are very nice packages at the end of the day. Just pick what fits you better.

Funny thing is, once you add Ultimate Package, Adaptive Steering, and LED package to a King Ranch (which would spec it out the same as a Platinum), the KR actually costs more than a Platinum.

I came from a loaded Lariat Ultimate. Personally I didn’t like the KR interior, or the Limited for that matter. Its very nice but not for me. The red stitching in the Platinum is a nice touch and the “massaging” seats are a nice diversion on a long trip. Full disclosure: this coming from a guy who drinks Bud Light exclusively, doesn’t own a sport jacket or a tie, and wears a collar shirt about 6 times per year.

I had a ‘16 & a ‘17 F150 Platinum. I test drove both an ‘18, F350 Platinum & KR they were identical, I’m not a big chrome fan but imo, it’s not over done on the KR. I thought the KR leather was significantly better and the color is awesome. I went with the KR but like others have said the logo on the center console sucks. I went with the 6’9” to save approximately 250# of cargo capacity.

I fold a small soft brown towel for my console rest on my KR. I didn't want to trash the logo and leather from normal use and the towel can be used for other things in emergencies. I liked the two tone option on the KR and the leather on my 17. Besides, Platinum sounded too much like a topless bar to me (not that there's anything wrong with topless bars).

If I had to carry and use a $2 towel under my arm while driving my new $80,000 truck, I'd be pissed.

Its really not 250 pounds different, unless the long bed truck is full of fuel. All of the trucks payload capacities are with a full tank of fuel, and since the long bed holds 14 gallons more, it has to be factored, Its right at 100 pounds worth, so the actual payload difference (with equal amounts of fuel in both trucks) is 150 pounds, which is still a difference.

You can order the KR without the chrome package, hence the no chrome placard on tailgate. I like it, though the wheels and mirror caps...not so much. So no chrome package for me.

Actually I didn't know this but I just looked up identical tires on tire rack and the 20" capacity is 3750 and the 18" is 3640. So the 20" tires have a higher capacity by 110lb. I could not find the wheel capacities on the web. Maybe that's the limiting factor. Why would you lose the camper certification with the 20"?
