75 highboy fuel cell

I'm getting ready to purchase a 75 highboy and I have a question about rear fuel tank. The truck has a cab tank and another on the side in front of the rear tire. My question is this:Is there a tank for the rear of the truck? if so what is the capacity and who sells them?

I appreciate any assistance.

Thanks, Matt

Hey Matt-
I'm sure there are lot's o' AM tanks out there in all sizes.
When I went to replace the springs on my 75, I had to take out the saddle tank. Since I had it out I decided to remove the Cab tank also (could stand the fumes any longer). I had the local welding shop build me a aluminum tank that fits in the bed at the front. 49 gallons, I think its 14" tall by 18" deep and 50" wide. You could also get a tank from a Semi junk yard, square or round that would work. The Ford sending unit is about $14.

Bob,

Thanks for the info.
I was concerned because I had heard that there was a difference with the frame widths and set-up during those years. I was wanting to put a bronco tank(78-79) in the stock location for both more fuel capacity and so I could remove the cab tank to create space for personal items.
