What a find Prakash, this photo says it all. Poor vehicle is cursed by bad luck and ‘not my fault’ mentality.

5 Small Accidents under 15 mph:

1.) 2004 - Drove @ 15mph through a TD Bank front window & glass doors into the bank lobby and smashed into a ATM Machine, so the front bumper has the 2 inch indent pinch from the corner of the ATM machine. The front grill has been replaced two times.

2.) A drunk lady hit me in the rear bumper when I was at a stop sign. I had no damage, her car was totaled, and her engine & hood went thru her front window.... about 2008

3.) A tow truck falsely tried to repo it, so I drove it off his tow truck, and I dragged the tow truck a bit. My back bumper was raised about 1 inch.... about 2009. The photos on the tow truck, are of the truck returning from Police in 2009, the exhaust system was replaced after & the truck was self-painted several times.

4.) A duley-truck (pick up truck with 6 wheels) ... his 6th wheel in the rear, hit my driver-side tire when I was parked. My tire was pointing to the left. I think he had some minor damage, maybe to his rear-quarter panel. I didn't see a scratch on my tire, so I said... I have no damage, so we don't need to call the police, nor get insurance involved. When I was on my way home I noticed, the steering was off by maybe 2 inches. This is from a "steering tie-rod" in the front being moved, and is still the same today... the steering wheel points to about 2:00 o'clock to drive straight.

5.) I was parked on the side of the road, with my door open about 3 inches, and a lady drove into my driver side door in Dec 2012. The driver-side door got pushed forward into the front-quarter panel. The quarter panel moved out so there is a gap in the hood about 1 inch. The bolts need to be loosened and the quarter panel needs to be moved back to even the gap in the hood. The same with the hood... of the 4 bolts on the hood, 2 were tight, & I didn't want to strip the bolt, so I stopped working on it. The quarter panel also pushed forward into the light assemble.... plus with TD Bank accident, it needs a new kit for $30. The assembly holds the light to the grill & front engine compartment. It is made from plastic. It needs to be replaced. I tried to repair the plastic cracks in the assembly with "liquid nails glue" but the glue didn't hold to the plastic. What would work is a "Fiber-glass repair kit", the 2 part liquid mix + fiberglass ...but, the cost for a "Fiber-glass repair kit" is about $35 dollars, ....and a new light assembly frame is cheaper at $30.... so, it just needs to be bought off google... and you might as well also get a entire new LED lights... because also both front lights have broken plastic parts also where it attaches to the plastic light mount. I tried like 5 different glues to fix it but it breaks about every year.

There is a small 1 inch dents in the driver door & quarter panel that have been bent back. No bondo work was applied. The door still opens & closes & locks, but it needs to be lifted up 1/2 inch to close & lock, until the bolts have been loosed & adjusted again.

Here is a list of repairs it does NOT NEED, but could use to make it LOOK BRAND NEW:

$20 = inspection
$6 = inspection stickers
$97 to $276 = after market new front quarter panel (google)
$85 to $200 = after market new front door (google)
$85 to $200 = after market new hood (google)
$30.17 = "Rear Leaf Spring - Rubber Bump Stop" is missing. Chapman Ford show contact info
$100 = 2 new LED headlamps (google)
$30 = Front headlamp Mount (google)
$150 = new tire (Walmart)
$20 = two new rear window hydraulic arms (google)
----------------------
TOTAL = $650

Insurance = $695 year

Here is a list of the Last New Parts it has:

• 3 New Tires = all have less then 100 miles & full tread. The 4th had a leak, and it sat on the rim too long.
• New Alternator = Needs to be exchanged for FREE at PepBoys or AutoZone... I have the receipt & life time warranty card.
• New Battery, like 1 month of use, but sitting since Dec. 2011
• New Break pads = less then 100 miles
• New Seat Covers
• New Carpeting from 3rd row back.
• New under carriage paint = Under the truck, it looks like a show car. I stopped driving it in Dec 2011, + painted the entire under-carriage from front to rear bumper to prevent and stop any rust because I knew it would be sitting for a long time. Every inch of metal, rubber, wires, break lines, fuel lines, frame, wheel well is painted new underneath the truck. I am very glad that I did this, because there is no rust at all.

----------------------------

Repair History:

• Breaks @ 80,000, $130,000, + 180,000
• Fuel Filter inside tank @ 130,000
• New Paint Job every year since 2007, with about 20 spray cans of paint each time.
• Oil Change at @ every 6,000 miles after I hit 100,000 miles. It was changed every 3,000 sometime up till about 100k, then I started reading a lot that changing at 3k is not necessary, after 100k I did it about every 6k. This truck can be changed with out a jack b/c of it's height.
• All Spark Plugs changed @ 130,000... then again periodically... there were about 1 spark plug shooting out of socket a year after 150,000. So, each time, a new spark plug plus a new "ignition coil" was installed. Of the 5 times, the spark plug thread was still good... what happened was, they were not locked in tight, so, over time they jiggled there way loose, until they fell out. 1 time, the thread was stripped, and a helix-coil, new thread was installed.

You can Google search the Truck, this same year & Model is still selling for $6,000 to $12,999 so, I think it is priced right for the repairs it needs at $3,500.

Vehicle Information:

One owner = Me. I bought it off Enterprise Rental Car from Georgia. They had it for about one year and a half, or less. It came with 18,000 miles, a year 2000 I got in March 2003. At that time, the List price was $59,999, and with interest on a finance, the real payments are well over $80.000.

Year 2000
189,000 miles
XLT Model
Gasoline, ...the diesels go up to 1 million miles.
4x4
5.4 Liter
8 Cylinder
Front & Rear stereo = 2 stereos
Front & Rear heat & AC = 2 heat & AC controlls.
CD, Tape, + 6 disk changer
About 8 cigarette lighters.
Digital Compass, Average Fuel, Trip Fuel, etc.
Weight = is 8,000 or 9,000 lbs I think
Tow Capacity = I think it is 16,000 lbs.
$350 Ladder Rack / Roof Rack
Key less Entry = electronic # code to open doors, like: 13256

Bullet Proof + Bomb Proof + Accident Proof:

1/4 thick steel body all around
1/4 inch thick steel seat inserts & undercarriage.

...since, the truck has been sitting since Dec 2012, it has 9.5 Gallons in the tank. Several Auto-Mechanics give advise, the shop next door to me will pump it out for like $20. The equipment to buy, to pump the gas out, can be also $20 to purchase, but I don't want to do the job, I'm scared of a gas & elec pump together. Or, other mechanics have said to me, "don't waist your time, just buy some additive in the store, and pour that in the tank... like a water remover & a octane booster.

So, I don't want to start it.

...If you want to start it, you will need to pump out the gas on your own, you can do it on my lot, or we can schedule a tow to the mechanic business 4 doors down to do it for a fee.

...it will also need a jump, and will need a very long time to charge the battery since it has about 100 miles or less on it @ 1 month old, it also has been unplugged since Dec. 2012, so, you will need to bring a truck with a big battery to charge it for like 15 minutes, a car maybe 25 minutes, or buy a new battery, or bring a working battery with you.... and, the alternator needs to be exchanged in the store for free.

There is no plates & no inspection, so... we can't drive it in the street, we have 150 feet on my land to drive.

Since meeting Nicmike earlier this month, I've been obsessed with a coil spring conversion for my Excursion. Sadly it is not in the cards right now(HOA would force us out of the neighborhood doing the conversion in the driveway). Found this and think the price is pretty good if anyone in the DC area is thinking the same after they met up with Nicmike on his travels.
