transmission leak?

transmission leak?
While I was changing the oil this past weekend I noticed some fluid on the bottom of the 'fly wheel' cover. Upon removing the cover the flywheel was clean and dry - I checked the rear of the oil pan and there was no sign of any leakage there. The color of the fluid was more red than brown so it makes me think it's trans fluid. My question is where could the source be - front trans seal? Any thoughts from the pros is appreciated to point me in the right direction. W
