I'm looking to order a new lariat, and I'm considering the camel leather interior. Anyone with the camel interior, can you please tell me how it holds up to dye transfer from dark clothing, such as jeans, etc? Is it easy to keep clean? I've had gray interiors on my last few trucks, so considering changing it up for this one. I'm really looking hard at white gold with camel.
Also, if anyone has any experience with the factory power deployable running boards, I'd like to hear your experiences with them as well.

You will have dye and dirt transfer which is common on the Camel interior and you will have to clean it often and stay on top of it. I`ve also seen camel seats that had dye transfer and the dye didn`t come out so be prepared.
I`d say play it very safe and conservative and go with black.
This is my first Ford, but my parents have been driving them for about 40 years. When I told them I was looking at the F150, the first thing they said was not to get the camel interior...which is what I think actually looks the best.
Dye transfer was their complaint. It should be noted that my dad wears blue jeans all the time. I rarely wear blue jeans....so it probably wouldn't be an issue for me.
I do have the factory power running boards. No issues. I'm in sales and am in/out of my vehicle frequently. On the other hand, its about a year old and I only have 28K miles on it. Maybe someone with an older one will chime in on their experience.
The dye transfer is a real issue. First day driving truck home from dealer (hot summer day) and even with the vented seats, ended up sweating and my blue jean shorts ended up giving my seat a blue hue that I could not get rid of. Given a choice I would stick with the gray interior. I have a little over 34k miles on my 15 and would be willing to send you some pictures if you want. Just let me know.

Thank you very much for your insight! I would definitely appreciate it if you would send me pictures of yours. I’m looking to go meet with my salesman either late today or tomorrow to spec it out.
My interior is camel. I wear Levi's every day. Every day. New ones will transfer a little onto the seat welting but in my experience it disappears the next day onto the next pair of jeans. I have 32000 miles on my truck and have rubbed some conditioner on the seats twice during that time. Never have felt the need to just clean them. It's been a few months since the last conditioner and they look great.
I like the color and wouldn't shy away from it next time. Coming out of a 2012 Lariat with a black leather interior, I can tell you that camel is waaaaay cooler than black. Way.
I have the camel in my 2015 Lariat which has the cooled/heated seats & was formerly a dealer demo truck.
After I cleaned the accumulated grunge off the seats w/ Saddle Soap I applied VLR conditioner via spray bottle (Mothers VLR). .
Found the best way to apply evenly was spray VLR onto a micro-fibre cloth & then wipe the seating surfaces.
Even after a crappy Michigan winter the seats are still clean. And I do wear blue jeans a lot.
My only complaint w/ the camel color is the lower door sill moldings which get dirty every time you step on them w/ wet or muddy shoes whilst getting into the truck. I've prolly sprayed them w/ VLR once every 6 weeks or so to keep them clean.
Would most def get a Camel color interior on future truck.
Thanks for the responses. I found out today that Ford has discontinued white gold for the 2019 model year. I also found out that you can't get the power deployable running boards with the 501A package. Since I don't want the 502A, factory power deployable running boards isn't an option. Sync connect is going to be standard on the 2019. After considering all of my options, here is the order my dealer is going to place for me tomorrow morning:
2019 Lariat 2WD Supercrew
White platinum tricoat
Bucket seats with gray leather
501A equipment group
2.7 ecoboost
10 speed transmission
3.55 locking rear end
Chrome package
Navigation
Trailer brake controller
Factory spray in bed liner
Tailgate step
20" PVD wheels
36 gallon fuel tank
Wheel well liners
Chrome running boards
The dealer searched high and low for what I wanted in a 2018, but came up empty. I told him that other than the color options I gave him, a 2.7 ecoboost, 2WD, and 36 gallon tank were must haves. I also told him that I didn't want a black interior or a 502A package. The only thing left to do was a special order. I'm pretty excited because this is the first time I have ever ordered a truck built exactly how I wanted it. I went with the 2.7 because I'm a realtor and I drive a lot, so I wanted to get something that got the best mpg as possible. The dealer said maybe 6-8 weeks at best.
I love my Camel interior Lariat. It is by far the first thing that people comment on, many have said "how much did this thing cost"? I had a service rep. today (first oil change) return from driving the truck around to the service bay say I really like the interior in that truck!
I really have no idea how hard it will be to keep clean in the long run, but damn it looks good!
One thing I have done is to coat the seats with Colinite leather protector. It is really a cleaner wax. The idea being that most modern vehicles' interior is plastic coated leather, traditional leather treatments don't penetrate the seats anyway so you are better off putting on a protective wax coating. How does it work? Ask me in 10 years, but so far so good.

Thank you! I would have added them to the order if I could get them with the 501A package. I didn’t want to bump up to the 502A package. Can you get them with the 501A?

Unfortunately the LED headlights are a $7300 option that includes the other 502A stuff.

That’s what I thought. I didn’t remember seeing them as an option with the 501A, and I didn’t feel like the increase in price was worth what you get when you bump up to a 502A.

Agreed. I personally don't see the need for anything higher than a 501A Lariat...... Much less the KR, Plat or Limited.
