For the 1997 Ranger, my Ford Electrical Manual shows the light blue/yellow wire (input from the PCM- 5V) at the clutch pedal position switch connected permanently to the gray/red wire (output to engine controls such as the IAT, TPS, ECT, etc.). On the manual transmission, the two wires are disconnected at the clutch pedal position switch when the clutch pedal is released. My question: on the manual transmission ones, if the two wires are disconnected/open circuit when the pedal is released, how do the ECT, IAT, TPS, etc. get the 5V reference from the PCM. I see no other way on this electrical circuit diagram. (I'm asking this because I'm trying to run down a short right now, and this is a point that I don't understand).
I will really appreciate it if someone can clear this up for me.
