Clutch slipping after HPOP leak
Long story short is my 1999 f350 6 speed Powerstroke HPOP started pouring oil while on vacation and had to have it replaced. It leaked 3 gallons by the time I got it to a garage. Since then I’ve noticed the clutch is slipping. Could all the oil running down the engine cause the clutch to slip? The clutch was working perfectly until this. Thanks

ok thanks that’s what I was thinking. Do you think the oil has ruined the clutch or should it clear up on its own? The clutch is not that old so I hope I don’t have to replace it.

The clutch will clear up. Some have tried spraying a lot of brake fluid on it to help clear it up quicker, but it will work it's way out on it's own with the heat (mostly caused by the slipping that will continue to happen for a while).
Just remember you can't down shift and gun it to get past someone, and go easy on the hills while towing until things clear up.

If you have a 100% ceramic clutch it can be cleaned with brake cleaner. If it's organic at all, it's likely oil soaked and ruined. It may go back to holding around town but the second you apply boost with any load it's likely to slip again. I just replaced my second clutch in 10k miles due to oil leaks. Dumbest ****ing design ever.
If your existing clutch it not old, a competent shop can resurface your friction disk for a fraction of the cost of a new clutch kit.
If you do pull it, do the drain tube mod Stewart posted. Well worth it. I sprung another leak after my second clutch install and this modification saved my ***.
These trucks leak. Often. You're better off just getting used to it.
