Anyone Know Motorcycles??
Anyone out there know how to wire ignition components on motorcycles? A '66 Honda 305 Superhawk to be exact. My dad put the 305 in an Indian frame years ago but nothing else is hooked up. I don't know alot about whats makes bike engines run when it comes to the ignition, so can anyone help me out? What will I need, and where do I hook it up??? Thanks

Those old Hondas were a standard coil/points ignition as I recall. Just run power through a switch to the coil and the other side of the coil to the points. Wiring the charging system was nearly as simple running to a rectifier/battery but I think the lights ran off a separate circuit, can't remember exactly. Don't run the system without a battery though, the battery server as a voltage regulator/capacitor in the system and without it you will burn out the coils.
