I have a guy... Who makes vintage i.d. replicas for Ford door plates. I have the tel. #.for him . Ii return, I have my VIN but don' know the other info to put on the plate. W.B., COLOR CODE, BODY, TRANS, MAX 0WW, CERT NET, RPM. My vin # is: F10AK790091. I thought with just the vin # that I could find the rest of codes needed for the plate, but I cant.. Thx yaalll...
F10 - F100-4 x 2
A - 240 1V 6 cylinder
K - Kansas City, MO assembly plant
790091 is a 1966 truck - assembled December 1965
From the VIN alone - especially with an F100 - you can't tell the W.B, Color, Model (per se, but probably F100), Body, Transmission, Axle and you can't be sure of the original District Sales Office.
The Net HP would be 129 at 4,000 RPM.
You can probably look and tell or measure the wheelbase. Color might have to look up under the dash or other areas to get an idea. If you can get a color then you can fudge the Body code depending on if it is Standard or Custom Cab. Transmission and Axle might need to look to I.D. them assuming they are original.
I hope that helps some. DSO could be your choice, too.
Chad As for the DSO district area maybe you can list the codes for central USA as I doubt that a Kansas built truck would get shipped to either coast or Canada

But Brad, your doubts don't mean anything to old Ford trucks...LOL...because there are lots of examples of Kansas City, MO trucks being ordered through the 74 Seattle District Sales Office.
Here's two examples, but lots more from Kansas that sold in Seattle.
Warranty Plate is the same 1966/69 and a reproduction with all the correct info stamped on it is available with the rivets from martiauto.com
Marti will need to know the info stamped on the plate (see example below), as he doesn't have info for 1966 and earlier.
Its not legal for Kevin or anyone else to make a plate without prior plate and vehicle registered in name to person asking for said plate.
I have known kevin for prob 30yrs and when I lost door tag for a truck I had owned a very long time he could not make me a plate. Another I had owned a long time but never transferred title
He could not make me a plate.
I know there are probably people out there doing it but not legally.
Marti Auto Works publicly advertises on his web page the availability of various tags. For the 1966 Ford F100 he can get axle, data (door tag warranty plate), carburetor and warranty card. On the surface of this page he only states the requirement of a picture of the original tag solely for the purpose of correct font. If he requires proof of ownership he does not state so in an obvious place. A warranty plate is not a VIN however, I do feel that a falsified Data plate is just a bad.

Marti told me he cannot do a "Made in Canada" tag. Can the "other" guy?
Incidentally, ND, the Canadian DSOs are incorrect in your document. Mercurys are "A", Fords are "B". However, there are many exceptions.
Complain to FoMoCo, this page is from the 1964/72 Ford Truck Parts Catalog on a C/D .. It was scanned from the loose leaf paper edition by hipoparts.com.
People often say they like my bumper sticker. I tell them I don't have a bumper sticker, my truck does. LOL. Yes, we are getting a bit of liquid sunshine here today....

Marti came here to Maryland a few years ago, and I spoke with him about a warranty plate with fake engine and trans codes for my '69 Mach 1. He said "no problem". He called it a "vanity tag". I have a 408 Windsor and a 5 speed so I wanted the warranty plate to indicate the engine and trans were experimental. Only the VIN tag will get you in trouble.

Eric
Aside from exceptions I can prove A is for Mercury because my parts truck is an A6 DSO and I have some of the original owner purchase and warranty documents from the selling Dealer McFarlane Lincoln Mercury which is still in business under new owners by the name GO MGM Lincoln Mercury right in Red Deer.

That would be awesome to have done however, in your case Marti has the documents to prove how your Stang left the correl back in 69. He cannot get that info 66 and older so for our slicks I cannot see him faking an ID tag such as a special order 428 PI that a future truck buyer could pay a premium for suspecting it is original when it likely was not.
