Hi. I just picked up a 1970 F100 with a 302. Gauges, not idiot lights. It is not giving a charge. The alternator tested as working correctly, but it really looks as though there are wires cut off or missing from the alternator to voltage regulator harness, so I believe that's where the problem is. I am having trouble finding a new harness. I read somewhere that the 1970 mustang uses the same harness. Could someone please tell me if that is correct?

With the 1970/gauges combination, you'll want to use the F350 diagram for troubleshooting your alternator wiring.
The F100-250 diagram only shows wiring for the idiot lights.
There are differences at the Voltage Regulator, Alternator and Instrument Cluster.

I got the charging system going again, big thanks to mrpotatohead. Would the f350 diagram apply to turn signals and running lights as well, or would the f100 diagram correctly cover it?
