New hood hinges

Just saw this advertised in Nov 18 Classic Truck magazine: https://ringbrothers.com/1956-f100-hood-hinge-kit.html They use a gas strut.
Anyone ever used these yet?

Bjorn is correct, EMS has had similar hinges on the market for a number of years now but these Ringbrothers hinges are not the same as EMS. If you decide to buy a pair, give us an update on how they work for you.

Hard telling...I am not keen on the two-piece arms on the Ringbrothers hinges but other than that I have nothing else to base an opinion upon.

If the hinges fit a 56 then they will fit any slant cab as well. The angle of the windshield on the 56 is more upright which means that the hood hinge arms must be longer so that the rear edge of the hood moves away from the windshield as it is opened. Since the 53-55 slant cab windshield lays back at a lower angle the 56 hinges work just fine.

I've looked at both the RingBrothers and Eddy units for my '53. I prefer the design, construction and finish on the Eddy hinges. My truck will be painted in a couple months and I'll order the Eddy shortly before then.

Well please let us know because the question concerning the Eddy ones where difficult to get any real world answers on and when there was it was said " they cure most of the problems " and at that price " close to a $1,000 here " they had better be 100 percent .

Will do EBear. I'll post my experience with the Eddy hinges, but it will be later this year. They are closer to $650 retail and I'm hoping to find a discount at the Good Guys show this weekend. Just saw that you're in Canada so understand the $1,000!
