Transmission Fluid Brands?
its time for a auto tranny svc on my 05 6.0 PSD. What trans fluid you all running in yours? I know it calls for SP/LV, but have you all tried any other brand? For example: I went over to Amalie Universal Synthetic on my ‘00 7.3 PSD,, prolly 8-10 yrs ago. No issues on the 7.3 tranny whatsoever and at 311k on the clock.

Some have tried with good results and others have failed. Ultimately use Motorcraft fluid and be done with it. The original fluid was a full synthetic so you are not gaining anything going to amsoil. If it's not available and you need fluid immediately the valvoline max life in the red bottle covers the needs and mirrors the fluid properties. The Cst value is critical in the fluid for good operating characteristics.
