Has anyone ever bought one of the cold air intake kits on ebay. They look basically the same as a K&N kit but start out around $45-$50 and come with everything you need. Just curios.........that would be a big savings compared to a air-force 1 K&N.......
Skinner for what its worth I bought a cold air system on Ebay and replaced the filter that it came with , with a K&N filter for more air intake and for my deal it was sweet. It came with the polished intake tube , all hardware and hoses. But I also had a friend buy one on there , he got his and was missing all the hardware. If your thinking about one from Ebay just go in and check the sellers rating and see if there are alot of complaints about missing peices. I have read a few since I bought mine and some are totaly not worth fooling with since you'll be spending another 25-30.00 for the missing parts.
Long as you have a good seller , I would buy it!
There really wasn't a GIANT difference in power , but was a little noticable in fuel consumption being less on long drives {2-4 mpg} and sound when you nail it. I have heard that the cat back systems help alot , Although I wouldnt know because I have a Roush system on mine from the factory and not really interested in replacing mine with another till it wears out.
I used to have a Toyota 4x4 that I showed that I installed a Borla stainless system on and it really did help with the breathing chores on that since it was running 18x39 Mickeys on 14" wide Alcoa's. Plus it always looked great under my bed at shows when I had my bed raised up. It had a Cali 4 way dump on the rear.
If you do decide to go with the cold air , make sure you can get ahold of one that had a heat shield on it or a closed in breather box to keep it from drawing in hot air...the whole purpose is to get in "cold" air.
After you get everything on , let everyone know how it performs?
