Water leak Intake fun
So I bought a '99 EB 5.4 4x4 for 900.00. Its in great shape except for the antifreeze leak near the fire wall. I've got the intake pulled atm. Soooo much fun (sarcasm). I found one semi bad coil pack but not sure on the water leak. The intake gasket looked good and couldn't see anything on the hoses and metal tubes back there. The 'L' pipe from the intake did mess up trying to get the hose loose from it so I'm hoping it was the culprit. Gonna replace both metal pipes and the rubber hoses back there. Is there anything else I need to replace while I'm at it or check?

So messed around a little tonight with the intake. Got the old 'L' pipe out. Took a dremel, screwdriver, and hammer. Wasn't pretty. Put a little permatex on the new one and OMG it wouldn't go in. Used pliers and a hammer to get it in there and still lack about a half inch to be completely seated. It ain't leaking and it isn't coming out so that's where it'll stay.
Also went ahead and installed the upper intake gasket since its in the set.
Tried to get the pipe from the water pump unbolted from the back of the passenger side head. I'll work on it some more tomorrow. Ugggg

Well I got it all back together. I replaced all the heater hoses and with new intake gaskets there are so far no leaks. I also installed new o-rings on the injectors and 2 new coil packs to get rid of some non-oem packs. I still had one and got a bad misfire. Lucky that I put that one on the front since I knew they were suspect. Replaced it with the other I replaced and issue gone. So I'll be ordering another 2 pack of Motorsport coil packs and getting rid of that last non-motorsport one and a spare on hand.
I have a groan in the rear that changes pitch with throttle. I'm going to try new rear diff fluid and additive before anything else. At 280k it may be time for a rebuild.
