I have a 1967 econoline with a straight six and an automatic transmission I could use help identifying what motor it is, what transmission is on it and where the hell I could find a carburetor to go on the motor it is the only thing I'm missing. If someone could help me I would be greatly appreciated
The straight 6 170 CI was standard, with the 240 CI as an option. The automatic was a 3 speed, C-4. The carb was most likely an Autolite 1100. All the parts for these components are still readily available.
Thank you for the information how would I tell if I have the 170 or the 200? Will the carb work on ether one? I am sorry for all the questions but I'm way out of my depth when I went to the part store they said the carb for my van was unavailable and gave me this part number C5UZ 9510-E do you know a good vender for the carb you spoke of?
The Autolite 1100 carbs are available, rebuilt, from Ebay, Summit and many other vendors. The 170 and 200 are similar engines, but not the same. This might help you ID your engine.
Thank you all for the help I have a carb on the way after years of working on FE,small block, and even Y block I found my self totally confused with the information I was reading I truly appreciate the time everyone took to help me on this. Who knew the inline 6 world would be so different.
Got my new carburetor in the mail today. It does not fit on the manifold nor does it have enough vacuum ports for the transmission and the vacuum advance on the distributor. Is there a possibility I have the wrong carburetor spacer on the motor?
Is there a possibility I have a manifold for autolite 1101? After some reading on the web I found that the 200 I 6 also came with a big bore intake? Is there a spacer that would make the 1100 fit on the 1101 intake or do I send back my carb and get a 1101? Dose anyone have the dimensions of the standard spacer for the 1100? My bolts from the manifold are 3.34 center to center and the bore is 1.74 any help would be appreciated i thought I had this thing figured out and now am back to square one
Most infor I can find suggests the 1100 and 1101 were basically the same carb. The difference was the choke mounting location. I have found too, the 1100 series carbs were not popular and Ford replaced them with Carter singles. You may want to look up some Carter single barrel carbs and see if you can find one that more, or less, matches your manifold.
Thank you for the video the most interesting part of the video to me was the part ware he says that you have to be careful about some 1101 because some of them have a larger mounting base it's right around the the one minute mark of the video. I called the supplier that I received my 1100 from today to let them know that it would not fit my intake and the mounting base was too small he said that he had an 1101 in stock and would exchange it for me so. I sent pictures of my spacer with calpers to show the larger mounting bolts so hopefully I will get this figured out. I will let you all know how it goes
