Decyphering the electrical schematic

Converting a 1989 351 gasser to a 7.3 IDI diesel. Have the wiring schematics (Ford E9TB/FPS-12135-890). The wiring diagram prefix explains a lot in terms of wire color & gauge, circuit # and location. However I am confused with letter designations that comes after the wire gauge and color indication. I.E. 673 18 DB-Y D which means circuit #673, 18 gauge wire, Dark Blue wire w/yellow stripe. but the D following is where I am at a loss. Another example, 29 18 Y-W AB again circuit #29, 18 gauge wire, yellow wire with white stripe and then AB. I have no idea nor is it indicated as to the designation of these letters. So if there is someone who can help it would be greatly appreciated. Bear with my ignorance in this matter. Thank you to all.

You are swapping to a IDI. Just rip everything out, save the charging circuit, ac hot wire and a hot ignition for the engine. The rest goes.
