Found this hanging loose to the right of my fuel filter, loooks like it orginates off the glow pluge wiring harness and just sits exposed

Is it maybe the wire for your fuel heater?

What is this wire

Man, I'm waiting on a reply from the admin section in hopes that I can post a picture ao we all know which one were talking about. I will check the book and confirm where the heater and it's wires are. Might be, it has a 90 degree elbow boot just like the one on my fuel filter, but the fuel filter is hooked up, I just changed it, and of course it's leaking, maybe over tightened it.

What is this wire

I'm betting it's the wire which goes between the Water in Fuel sender and the warning lamp in the cab. The sender is located on the bottom of the water drain bowl. R.A.

I think the fuel heater is located on the filter header (on top of the bracket)and heats the fuel before it goes into the filter element to keep wax from being a plugging problem. However, I also think it was an optional feature and not standard. Somebody will correct me if I'm wrong. At any rate, you could do a voltage test with a multimeter setting it to 20 volts DC, then putting one lead in the cleaned wire socket, and the other lead on a good ground, turn the ignition on and see if you get a voltage reading. Just a thought which might work.
There is another sender on the fuel filter header which is for letting you know of a "plugged fuel filter" condition. The sender works on the vacuum created by fuel flowing through the filter/header. The color of that wire is Red with a White Stripe on the Econoline. I don't know whether your application matches or not. R.A.

Hi 1SG,

if you have an eMail adress than normally you also get some webspace from your provider. For example: My provider (t-online)gives me 10 MB Webspace, called Indexpath. Here you can load up e.g. your own webpage, the pics for your auktion (if you need) or other files. To get the adress of your index you have to call your provider or visit his webpage.

to upload you have to use the "Ftp" (File transfer protocol) adress
here you can create e.g folders.
sample: ftp://my adress.com

to allow other people to look e.g. the pic, which you have loaded up they use the standard adress: http://my adress.com

sample: http://my adress/pictures/sample.jpg

This adress is to be written into the space when your write a post here at FTE and you click on the button [http://]

["pictures" in the sample is the folder which made by yourself, "sample.jpg" is the pic]

I know, it sound terrible but it is not soooo difficult.

I think a US user can discribe the procedure much better

Jens
