Wiring Woes
98 Ford e350 club wagon xlt
Come to find out my alternator only charges the battery when the driver side door is open. Strangest thing I have ever seen. Have no clue how or why. Good to finally know how to get the alternator to work though hahahah.

I've heard a lot of weird electrical stories, but I think that about takes the cake! 
The only thing I can suggest off the top of my head is to check your grounds, and trace your wiring. Maybe somebody did something 'creative'. How long has it be doing this?
By the way, when you check your grounds, don't just look at them.,. Take them apart and clean them up. Then verify continuity to the battery negative terminal with a meter.
