Interior rehab/build
Again install is the reverse of removal, turn your new cover inside out, and than unroll it into your new seat. Take it slow and make sure its tight, patients are your friend.
Press down in the areas with the velcro strips to seat them into position
More message and seating the velcro, make sure the velcro fastens tight and really work the new leather cover into place to get out the wrinkles.
Reattach the plastic clips together at the bottom of the seat, this will really fight you so be ready for it.
Should end up somthing like this
Now that you have your new leather installed on the cushions its time to re attach them. NOTE THE SOCK AROUND THE METAL BRACKETRY, THIS WILL OREVENT THE BRACKET FROM RIPPING YOUR NEW SEAT WHILE YOU ATTACH THE HINGE PIN
Feed your lumbar cable back through.
Then realign the hinge pin into place and press together. For me this took several tries and a few good punches woth my fist to get the pin to seat correctly.
Using a SHARP razor blade or knife cut openings for the 13 mm bolts that fasten the bracket for the seat back to the bottom frame
Install the two 13mm bolts
Reattach the plastic piece to your lumbar cable, start with it at 90 degrees
Than fold it down intonposition until it snaps in place
Trim the leather around the opening in the frame where the lumbar adjustment sleeve will pop through, and attach the screws to secure the lumbar sleeve in place
Use a pick to ounch a hole in the leather where the screwss will poke through to attach the plastic trim to the seat frame
Re-attach the plastic trim piece
Remember the two screws on the side, one hiding under the recline lever. You can also install the plastic handle onto the recline lever
Reattach the clip from the electronic seat adjustment controls
Poke a hole through the leather where the seatbelt alarm wire will pass through
Take your seat rails and place them next to your seat.
Align the rails in place, and fishe the wire for the seat belt chime back through the seat
Install the four 10 mm bolts to attach the rails back onto the seat. Double check all your wires are connected and plugs are secure.
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
Im particularly interested in the a/c ducting that you are going to do. Im definitely tuned in for that. Make sure to take lots of pictures.
Had to drill a 7/16 hole for the plastic tab to hold the floor duct in place
I did not get much done on the truck today, decided to clean out the garage instead, between landscaping and truck repair plus some minor electrical work around the house I couldnt take the disarray of stuff any more. Going to try to get the weather striping/door seals fixed this week.
