How many miles on your Triton V-10?

I have a 2000 Excursion with the Triton V-10 gasoline engine, and she’s still on the original transmission and the original engine... She’s about to hit 331,000 miles. I have my trusted mechanic take care of the regular maintenance, and once per year I have him give me a thorough used car inspection to check for anything else that may be on its way out. He tells me the only thing to indicate that my Excursion is closer to death is the odometer.

I’m interested in longevity stories from other Excursion owners. Anybody have mileage that blows mine away? Anybody have an Excursion die at or around my current mileage? Is 330,00 miles unique, or typical?

Ya know... after having a vehicle for 18 years, it’s tough to remember to be honest! I do believe I had the fuel pump replaced a few years back, but I can’t remember for sure.

118K miles on our '05 dedicated tow rig, miles are building slow on it as 6K a year is about the max it will see dragging the big TT around.

265k on mine and the engine still runs great. Friend of mine used to work for a contractor who had an F350 set up as a mobile welding rig. He said that V10 had 450k on it when he left and was still running well.

I'm at 203k, bought it with 198,500. PUlled my 8k lb. trailer almost 4000 miles last month. No leaks or anything else. I do have what appears to be a coolant temp sensor failing which I'm going to change this weekend.

I've seen a few mod motors(4.6 2v) in NYC livery cars hit 500k+ so I would think the 6.8 is no different, if anything it's a little less stressed than a 4.6 or a 5.4.
I always see lots of v10 Excursions with at least 200k, and others with more than that listed up for sale so they are out there.

The 4R100 transmissions on these trucks can be somewhat less lasting than the engines themselves from what I've read, that being said I think a solidly maintained 6.8 can live to see a half million miles relatively easily.

My old 2003 Ex had 120k when I bought it, and sold it with around 135k.
My current 2002 was purchased with 99k and now has a shade over 100k on the ticker.

My '02 currently has 145k I got it with 102k. Since I stopped driving it every day in '14 the miles are adding up very slowly.

Mines a baby. Just turned 100k. 100502 miles as of today. (EDIT: It's a V-10) When it turned 100k, I filled the tank with high test, gave it a bath, and changed a bunch of fluids and parts. Party time! Even went out and got a happy birthday balloon and tied it to the bumper while I worked on it.

I'm a real sad sack. I really need to get out more, but the lock on the ankle chains the wife put on is really hard to pick.

202###, towing around 7500 regularly...still strong. An SCT tuner makes a lot of difference!
