i have a very strange overhead computer problem. The computer SEEMS to work great, it shows average mileage, miles till I need gas and compass. However, I have a DTC code of "OTC B1201" which I believe is a fuel sender circuit failure in the Overhead Trip Computer (OTC). I clear the code and it comes right back. When I turn the ignition on the truck, I hear a growl and then that code comes on. Any ideas?
Yep, that is what I thought - it sounds like an ABS rumble. Probably not related . Strange though - I think the fuel gauge reads correctly? I'm going to go get her filled up and see whats doing. Maybe it needs a new fuel sender (bummer) - that sounds like a job I better leave up to a pro....
Quick update on this issue. I just changed out a VERY VERY dirty air filter for a new S&B unit. After changing the air filter and test driving it (all went well), I cleared the b1201 code... and it STAYED cleared! I need to drive a bit more to see if it really resolved but that was an interesting turn of events for sure!
