Smile headers 52 f1

Hi ford folks, i am looking for a set of centre dump headers for my 1952 ford f1 with an 8cm mercury flathead engine and stock steering and front suspension. most of the posts that i have seen recommend Reds heads, but they do not show a centre dump header. i have tried a set of headers from speedway, which were standard v8 flathead headers and they would not work with the stock steering box. major clearence issues with steering box, tried to dimmple in the header tube but still not able to clear the steering box.
can anyone tell me if they are running a set of centre dump headers, and if they had any fitment issues, and where i can get them from.
many thanks the Guffalo

If you are close to clearing with your Speedway headers....
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...justments.html

A google search shows several people selling "universal" center-dumps, no one making specific claims that they fit trucks. Why do you want center dumps? Red's truck headers fit great and if you buy his extensions, it puts you behind the trans, ready for mufflers and exhaust pipes, and made just for our trucks.

Thanks for the reply, will look into the headers and extension pipes for the truck. What concerned me was about wasting more money on something else that doesn't fit.

Speedway's headers are Hecho en Chine, and there are many posts on the internet about their poor fit.

Red Headers fit well on my truck too. I have a Toyota P/S box.

The other thing to watch for with the center dumps is the oil dip stick tube clearance. I used sanderson center dumps, cleared the steering box with a slight dimple, but the stock oil dipstick tube would not work at all. Had to use a flex stainless braid setup and modify that quite a bit to make it work.

FromThousand Palms, California to UK . . . don't know if that is a lot of money or not for large boxes? I'm sure others on here from the UK do. You might want to try just the critical headers. I found that the intermediate pipes didn't fit that well but that may have been just my truck. You can probably have them made up cheaper locally.
