I have a e99 f350 and I have the engine out of the truck. While the engine is being worked on, I put in a new radio with a screen along with a backup camera. Is it ok to hook back up one of the batteries to see if everything works properly. As long as there are no bare wires touching anything they shouldn’t be, it should be ok right? Also, does anyone know how I would hook this back up to make the radio and the other accessories work with no engine, alternator, or starter?
starter only does starter work
alternator does charging..... so No charging... but for testing, not an issue
shorting is the biggest issue... make sure no shorts........and Test away.
make sure batteries are fully recharged before engine is installed... so a battery charger is needed... or take them someplace to be charged.
Just a guess, but the fuel pump may still try to prime , without the engine , if you turn the key to the run position .
I would be careful , and use the accessory position .
I have the fuel pump removed as well. So how do I route/hook up power from the battery to the wiring harness so that the accessories work? What do I hook up to?
Is there a positive wire that went to the driverside battery? If so that will be the wire that runs the accessories. The passenger side battery controls the glowplugs and alternator from the solenoid.
