I saw this today at the gas station. The bed has been built predominately with wood. I was very impressed. I did not see anyone around it to talk to though.

Cool
I like the bed. I'm not real fond of the rails along the top but the wood bed part looks pretty good. I like how they even used the detail of the curved stake pockets

I see the running boards were made of wood too and custom bow-tie as well

Neat idea, looks pretty cool but not a fan of the railings either. Grandmas rocking chair may be missing a few spindles.

Really nice work throughout. I'm guessing the top cover (plywood would be too heavy, wouldn't it?)
is fabric stretched over a frame?, and it must be a close enough fit not to leak, judging by the quality
overall. Too bad you couldn't talk to the guy, I'll bet he has a furniture shop.

I looked around to see if I could find the owner. It was obvious I was interested as I took several pictures

Back in the '70s, I managed a home improvement store and we sold those spindles and finials. We couldn't keep them in stock. But like others, I wouldn't put them on my truck. But then again, it is a Chevy, so who knows!

Later!

Those spindles and finials popped up in many a van back in the 70's
