Yeah it's not cheap taking them down..

May as well let them fall and hope for the best... Then let the insurance foot the bill... LOL

They are both still healthy. The bad thing is that I planted them 25 years ago.

Why is that bad?? Just cause they are big or is that the life span for oaks??

As long as they stay healthy they will stay right where they are. I think oaks can live nearly 120 years.

There is a burr oak here in town that was a sapling when Columbus sailed in 1492.

The tree is fenced in in a historical district and is on Peoria Park District land.

The tree trunk has a 13 foot circumferrnce and the limbs that look like they are on the ground are actually in cradles that keep them off of the ground.

There was another large bur oak here that was cut down that was 300 years old, It made way for strip shopping center.

The tree hugger's pitched a bltch.
