I picked up an intake, plenum and throttle body from the wrecking yard and it was dirty inside the runners so i cleaned the intake and plenum but when i came to the t/b there is a sticker on it warning Do Not Clean inside t/b special coating on plate and bore. this truck had issues with oil, because from the egr on it was nasty. so my question is can this crude be better than my cleaning the t/b in the solvent sink, and it's not a harsh solvent more like kerosene.
when you say mild detergent would super clean and a rag be to much? because dawn detergent really aint gonna cut it. but if that is my only choice then that is what i'll do, i thank you for the advice as i've never come across this problem before. any idea what they mean by special coating, like what is it comprised of and or what does it do? make the air slip thru easier? just curious and wanting to learn. thank you for your help and any suggestions.
