My 1999 expedition has run great until a week ago.
It will start fine but will not idle. The engine looses RPM and then dies. I can hold accelerator steady at 1000 RPM and the engine will start to fluctuate between 1500 and 500 RPM. If I take my foot off the accelerator the engine dies. After the car warms up it runs fine.
If anyone can help I would appreciate it.
Not sure who closed this thread or why, but your IAC valve is probably to blame. 2 bolts, some stretching, and about $65 from the dealer. Click the link in my signature and hit "send" and you'll get a copy of the Expedition Owner's Guide which has a great article about fixing the IAC.

Thanks for your help.
Not to burst your bubble, but there's a good chance it's going to bite the big one within the next 2 weeks. These things tend to not clean up well, and Ford changed the design. The newer ones seem to work better.
I just didn't want you to freak out if the problem started up again.
