can't really go by interior, because i have a lariat with cloth seats, floor mat instead of carpet. it was ordered that way.
there’s always an oddball one out there but I’d guess 95% of lariats came with leather seats. Vin check is the best confirmation but if it’s got,crank up windows it’s likely a XL

... AND, I have an XLT with stock leather seats.
Within each trim level, there are a number of options which can take it to almost the same as the next higher trim level, and that's where my XLT was built and supplied from the factory... it has almost ALL options available without actually being a Lariat - I believe the only Lariat options I'm missing is the the Lariat sticker on the body, overhead console, and the Lariat stitching on the seat backs.
"Back in the day" when our trucks were built one of Ford's marketing campaigns was how many variations of a Ford truck you could get. I think they were boasting around 150 combinations. That's why you see XLTs with leather seats and Lariats with cloth seats.
I remember when I was looking for my truck and came across a Lariat (not the one I bought) that had AM/FM with a tape deck (no CD).
