1999-2005 f250/f350 Trim Level Information
Hi all, love the site. <B
Anyway, I am in the market for a diesel Crew cab superduty. That is my chef concern. I am fine with both the 250 and 350 lines, 6 or 7.3 matter not.
However, most of the great deals are quite a ways away; too long a distance to show up and find out that the lariat package I was choosing over the similarly priced 4x4 has cloth seats instead of leather and I just waisted gas and my friends time driving out there.
So my questions are: What are the major differences between the f250 srw and f350 srw? what makes a 350 a 350 and why should I drool over them?
WHat are the differences between the lt, xlt, and lariat trim levels? (eg the lariat has leather seats and power everything while the lt smells wierd and has manual windows)
I am picking 4x4/fx4 over leather seats with the intent to replace the seats later. Is this possible? Is the wiring there to allow for power front seats in the lt or xlt packages?
THANKS! again, I love the site. And if there is a trim level info thread, just ignore those questions and redirect me.

350 has about 4inch rear blocks 250s have 2 inch rear blocks. 350s also carry a higher gvwr. Those are the only srw differences. Lt trucks have vinyl floors and manual everything xlt is cloth with basic power and lariat is leather with all power plus some additional things (overhead console cd changer etc).

The base trim is XL, not LT, but it is standard with manual windows, locks, no cruise control, a vinyl bench seat, rubber floor, most had a manual transmission. They can be equipped with power windows, locks, cruise control, cloth seats, carpet, automatic from the factory if ordered with the package, black bumpers and grille, and sealed beam headlights (but could be ordered with composite headlights). The XLT comes standard with power windows, locks, cruise control, cloth seats (usually captain's chairs), carpet floor (but could be ordered with a carpet delete and thereby have a rubber floor like the XL), chrome bumpers and grille, and composite headlights. The Lariat had everything the XLT had plus power leather seats, some with heat, a 6-disc CD changer, power everything, ESOF standard, etc.
