Manual brakes with front Discs ???

New here, I have a question about a truck I bought..
It`s a `79 F100 with front disc brakes but there`s no vacuum booster, just manual brakes,

My question is :

if this is how it was made or if it`s a conversion?

Ive had manual brakes in a `74 F100 but it had drums, All I can tell you about the truck is it has a straight six, 4 speed manual trans and manual steering, pretty much as (plain jane) as you can get but it has no rust and runs good for the $800.00 I paid, It stops ok but I`m leaning toward the notion its been tinkered with at some point,I hope I can get some advice on the brakes, thanx in advance for any info..

Same here,

--But I performed the brake upgrade noted in the Tech articles by using T-Bird calipers and an F-350 booster/MC. Works fabulously as long as you have good compression/vacuum from the engine.

The hardest part of the install was finding the correct brackets to mount the booster to the truck (junkyard) and having to replumb the brake lines going to the MC with suitable fittings.

I have a '73 F100 2wd and a friend has a '78 F100 2wd - both came with manual disc brakes. I've since added a brake booster from a '79 F100 and it brakes a lot easier.

Yes there are brackets/linkage between booster and firewall. I can't remember if the pedal is the same or not. All holes, etc are already there it all bolts on.
