2001 V10 Ex Shuts Off
Hi-this is an odd one that I hope someone can help with. I was at a stop light about a month ago and the engine just shut off. Everything else was still working(a/c, radio, etc.) I didn't notice until the light turned green and I tried to hit the gas. I put the truck in park, turned the key off then to start, and it started right up. No problems since then until yesterday. The truck was parked and not running. I had the keys in the ignition, shut the door, and hooked up a trailer. When I opened the drivers door I heard the key chime for a second or two then it went quiet. I heard a couple of clicks from the relay/fuse panel underneath the steering column then the key chime started back up. I suspect both problems are related. I checked the battery and the alternator and they tested good. I have moved the ignition switch/key around and can't duplicate the problem. The battery is about 6 months old. The truck has 130k on it and is almost entirely stock. I've owned it for about 7 years with no electric gremlins. I am kind of worried that it will strand me. Thanks for your help.
