I have a 2011 F450 that started having problems last year. First, the auto seat feature would only work one direction. When you removed the key the seat would automatically move back but upon reinserting the key the seat would not move forward as it was supposed to. I could move it with the buttons but it would not work automatically. I just turned the feature off and kept driving. Then the remove mirrors quit working. Took it to Baytown Ford and they replaced the BCM but now the auto lock/unlock system will not work. Baytown refused to work on the truck simply because there were things connected to the uplifter switches, etc. They kept the truck 2 weeks and got nothing done. THEY ARE USELESS..... Took it to a local shop and they got most of the problem fixed except the auto door unlock. When you take key out, it unlocks doors ** I DID NOT WANT THAT ** The other problem from around the same time is that when you try to start it, it will not start. Power goes to panel but starter will not engage. A check of engine stuff shows "low voltage" to starter relay. Turn key off and on several times and eventually it will start. I also here clicking under the glove box during the failure to start times. Any suggestions? I can't seem to find anyone to program the BCM to the way it was. I don't like auto door unlock. I tried 3 ways to fix problem, steering wheel buttons, door lock buttons, and outside key pad buttons (per the book) and none work. Jerry in Texas
FIXED - FIXED - FIXED ** 2011 F450 Dually - NO START PROBLEM.................Baytown Ford is Horrible. Two years I have fought the no start problem, new parts, remove any aftermarket stuff, reprogram, NOTHING WORKED. The vehicle would sometimes start and other times the a/c fan motor would not come on. After the fan came on it would always start. I TOLD THEM REPEATEDLY AT CRAPPY BAYTOWN FORD *** over and over and over......... IT IS A RELAY PROBLEM, IT IS A RELAY PROBLEM. They would never listen and I spent thousands of dollar for NOTHING. Last Tuesday, my F550 did the same thing...... turn key, dash came on, no ac fan, no start. I then checked all fuses, and moved around the under hood relays by moving one to a different socket. BINGO ************ STARTED RIGHT UP - COST OF PART? $23 at OReiliy's auto parts. Changed the same part on my F450.. and...... FIXED IT TOO~~~! You have no idea how happy I am that I was able to fix the issue that Baytown Ford could NOT~~! ***Would not~! One time they had my truck for 3 weeks and worked on it one total hours. NEVER AGAIN BAYTOWN FORD.
FIXED - FIXED - FIXED - FIXED IT MYSELF. Thanks to folks like us sharing info, we can fix stuff our self. Jerry in Texas
