ZF and M5R2 Mounts
Howdy, i need a 2wd 5 speed for my project truck. I got given a donor truck with a 4wd M5R2 in it, which doesn't fit between the frame rails of the '49.
I found a 2wd 5 speed 95 f150 parts truck on craigs list for 200 bucks, but the guy isn't sure if it's a ZF or M5. I'm **** out of options here and can't afford a refurbished unit from abroad. And the guy won't let it go as anything other than a whole hog full truck, so it's all or nothing. Does the ZF F150 trans (IE not the close ratio heavy duty unit) share a clutch and transmission mount with the M5R2, and can i bolt that to my '91 302 and use the '91 clutch? I really need to know and i don't want to spend the time and money to find out.
