Fenders/Hood/Cab alignment ??

This is truly a monumental accomplishment. I have my frame level front to back and side to side. I have my cab level front to back and side to side. I have both fenders, hood, grill, and running boards loosely attached. I was wondering if someone has a guide or some handy tips on what would be the best step by step approach to this. I am truly clueless from here on out. Any help of guide, pics, measurements, anything would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I'm sure someone will chime in with the proper procedure for these trucks , but the doors need to fit the cab first then the the hood needs to fit the cab then fenders - grill are aligned last .

That's interesting, never knew the doors had to go on first to line up the fenders, please explain..???

Yeah, doors are irrelevant to lining up the front sheetmetal. Fitting the hood is the key....line the hood up to the cowl, then line the rest up to the hood.

Hard to get door to fender gap without the doors on I would think . Is there any reason that you wouldn't put the doors on ?

Go to mid fifty's web site click on instructions, look to the left of the page then click on front clip install, nice video goes step by step. According to the video you can assemble it in 2:13 minutes, LOL.

This is all well and good but what do you do if your hood reverse opens ? I will loosen everything up and then play with the rods that support the front. Wish me well.

Neither of those mention the doors and me being me I would be more concerned that the door to cab and to fender gaps match , then live with the resulting hood to cab gap .

Still trying to grasp this as the doors are several inches away from the fenders/hood?

Art, My understanding is you fit the hood as though you don’t have a flip hood.
Ebear, not sure what the doors have to do with the front clip. There is space enough for the door to swing back and hit the cab between the door opening and the front fender.
Showing space between door and fender.

Arrow shows bad hinges letting door hit cowl.

Ha sorry yep had my head in modern mode , we always line the door to opening first and never align on jackstands as it's shocking how much a unibody will move when put on its wells .

It's a lot easier to bolt up the fenders with the doors off , doors don't line up to the fenders like on a car of the same year..
