I'd say it depends how you use your truck. My truck is constantly in tight parking spots and that camera system is worth its weight in gold. For me, I would not have purchased this truck without the system. If your truck never leaves the ranch or you live in a small town and never plan to visit a large city...I'd say the backup camera is probably all you really need.

It came with my truck and I probably would not have ordered it myself. It turns out this is an option I use most often. As with others for parking assistance it is a wonder and I now wouldn't be without it.

Even though I could not try it at the dealership and the salesman (as usual) knew little about it I had pretty much decided that it was a must have.

My attitude is if it prevents one accident its worth it. There is not much of an incentive now to buy a 2018 to get what is left so I decided to wait until 2019 although the tariffs might take its toll on the price !

Who Would Have Thought

I too doubted the value, all I thought I needed was front and back views. But living in the suburbs the 360-degree view is invaluable multiple times per trip.

It depends on how bad of a driver you are.

NO that has nothing to do with it, if a dog or kid comes out of nowhere the best driver is now the worst driver.

Its funny how people drove cars for 100 years without cameras, now many people believe they need a camera or cameras just to maneuver their vehicle.

Exactly. If you're that bad of a driver that you can't park without a camera then you shouldn't be on the road....

I think the 360 camera is pretty cool. I don’t have it, but that’s only because it wasn’t on the truck I picked out.
There are places I park where it would be handy for being able to pull straight up 1/4” from a concrete wall just by checking the camera.
