Your curb weight won't be anywhere near either of those weights so I'd disregard them. If you want to know your weight, hit a CAT scale. If there are none locally, got to a local landfill. Often they will scale you for free of cheap money. My SRW 350 CC SB 6.7 weighs 8950# with the 5th hitch in, tank full, family in, and geared up for travel. My Titan 55 gallon tank adds some weight but otherwise, we travel light as far as the truck goes.

How or why would publish curb weights that include a fifth wheel hitch, a family of four, a buttload of gear and you upgrading to the 55 gallon tank? The point is to get the weight of the vehicle and fluids, not what you might happen to add/change. Curb weight doesn't include any of your "stuff".

Who is the 4th person in my family? I have no "buttload of gear". 2 adults, one 5 year old, a couple of cell phones, and perhaps a PB&J. Only an upgraded tank. The reason for posting is very simple. Because curb weight without any of that is useless. He wants to know for towing reasons. ( I can't imagine any other reason to be curious about curb weight.) You can't tow without all your "stuff." Perhaps I wrongfully assumed and he was just randomly curious about a pointless number and if that's the case, I am deeply sorry for the confusion I added. I don't know how I could have been so thoughtless and inconsiderate. Is it a full moon or something? Ugh...
I tow a 37’ 5th wheel and my truck’s 11,500 GVWR comes up short pretty quick. I thought the aluminum would give me more carrying capacity.....not a chance - My gross weight is at 11,440 not much left for extras. This SRW needs more GVWR.

The aluminum did lighten up the truck, but Ford used that extra capacity to install a heavier frame and axles...not to mention some trucks can be equipped with heavy goodies like a panoramic sunroof, massaging seats, power steering column, etc, etc...which weren't available on the previous generation and add weight. But yes, it would be nice if Ford upped GVW on the SRW wheels to at least match Dodge.

Don’t get me wrong this thing pulls like crazy with unmatched comfort. I just would have thought the Ford engineers would planned better. Heated seats and sunroofs are a poor trade for capability. Thanks for your reply and information.

The trade off was less body weight for a gain in frame and suspension weight. The options are customer driven and not part of the trade-off IMO. Could Ford have built a more robust frame and stiffer springs? Yes, then you have customers griping about less fuel economy and harsh ride.....
