does this sound like a GEM issue?

So out of the blue seemingly i discovered I had no washer/wiper or radio. After fiddling and searching and fuse checking i found if I hold down the door lock/unlock button all come back to life. currently have no 4x4 no radio no wiper and no dash guages unless the button is held down . A/C head lights tail lights blinkers all function normally. could i have a faulty GEM or something else?

Those symptoms are not inconsistent with GEM/VSM issues. Is that the real culprit? Could be.

everything I've read points me that way . Ive taken it apart a couple of times . I found no water damage that i could discern . wind shield was replaced a couple of years ago tho. a suitable replacement for that seems to be difficult to find.

Check the ground at the firewall above the steering column in the engine bay. Mine broke and I experienced similar issues.

welp after scratching my head for a couple of weeks on this one Noob nailed it, loose ground under the fuse box found. Gonna take a 120 mile test ride tonight!..... I think that wire had something to do with my edge tuner but not for sure but seemed to do the trick.

One wire hanging and caused me weeks of stressing and puzzlement, but drove it all weekend and all seems to be fine. Hopefully I can now start cleaning it up and making it look better. Got some a upholstery to tend to.
