Brake lights not working

Trying to fix the brake lights on a 2005 expedition my family has (think EB edition if that makes a difference) . All lights work except for brake lights (including 3rd brake light). Fuses are good, and tested the brake switch with a test light and that seems to be working fine (const power in, power out when pedal is pressed). Used the test light to see if any current was getting to the rear lights but nothing, not even on the factory trailer wiring. Short of tearing the dash apart to trace the wires, anyone have any suggestions? Electrical isn't really my thing so I figured I'd ask and searching didn't seem to give me an answer that applied to this case.

Which colored wires were you checking? There are two parallel sets of contacts in the stop lamp switch, on set is for the actual exterior stop lamps (LG/RD in, LG out supplied by fuse F2 in the CJB) while the other (RD/WH in, RD/LG out) is for logical signalling of the status of the pedal. Focus on the first circuit. I've come across multiple issues where the wire breaks inside the insulation near the switch.
