The truck has dual gas tanks,the gauge reads correctly for the rear tank,but shows empty for the front tank,I have checked fuses,any ideas what would be causing this problem?

One thing you can do, that worked on mine, is rapidly move the switch on the dash back and forth. It fixed mine on one occasion. Although mine is a carburated truck. The other time, the back tank quit working and it turned out to be the sending unit. If you can figure out what wire goes to the guage on the front tank, switch to the front tank and take the wire off the sending unit. The guage should read all the way one direction(empty or full). Then take this guage wire at the sending unit and ground it to a good metal surface on the truck. The guage should read the other way. If this checks out, then it is the sending unit. Be careful, I have never worked on a fuel injected gas tank, so make sure you get the right wires. I assume some of them go to the fuel pump.
