Hey guys,
So over the weekend I changed the ball joint on my '96 F-250, when I was removing the spindle, I had to use a chisel to get it off and in the process, I tore up my dust shields for the brake rotor, They already were rusted out, but the chisel finished them off. I called Auto Zone and O'reilly and neither of them had the replacement shields. I needed the truck because it is my dd so I put it all back together without the shields. Is this a big deal to not have them on?
No it's not a big deal. IIRC you can still get them from Ford but they are expensive. I don't have them on my truck and I'm willing to bet on most people's trucks they are rusted away or missing.
