Hello, I am new to the sight and just registered. i live in alabama and looking to find an OEM AM/FM radio for my 67. I cannot find anything local nor online. I am ok with getting the aftermarket kind but would love to find original if possible. Also would need to the bezel that goes with it.
The spread on the ***** was different then any other radio if I recall. I ended up mounting a late model DIN mount radio in mine because I tried using an old school am/fm and the ***** didn't line up with the mounting tabs. This goes back 10+ yrs, so information might be fuzzy.
The 67 radio is quite different from the 68-72. I've been researching this for my 67 and pretty much no aftermarket radio (retrosound etc) will work with the factory bezel due to the **** spacing and the tuner opening being an odd size. I have found a company that can rebuild the radio with modern internals (Bluetooth, usb, pre-outs etc), however, updating is quite pricy over $600 is the quote I was given. I was pursuing this option as I do not want to cut my original dash, and want to maintain an original type look for my interior. If you are interested the company is www.randbvintageautoradio.com. He has quite a few videos on youtube demonstrating how the upgrades work.
Thanks guys, I knew the 67 was different from all other model radios but didnt realize it was AM only. i have an newer style radio in right now but even it doesn't fit in the slot and i do not want to cut into the dash to make the slot bigger. I guess i will keep looking and see what i can find. If anyone has one out their that will fit please let me know.
The '68-'72 style radio bezel is a reproduced part that you can get brand new. Get one and you can install an aftermarket retro radio or, you can cut the face of the re-pop bezel with a cutoff wheel and install a modern DIN rail receiver in it. The metal structure of the dash itself does not get cut.
I believe I have two complete 67 Radios with bezels. I definitely have one. Working condition? Unknown. Both are untested. But these are original. Send P.M.
IMHO...just put a non working one in the hole for looks, then add a bluetooth amp hidden uner the seat for some much more rocking tunes. A bluetooth amp will play music directly off your smart phone, if you have one. I have a non working 8 track in the dash of my '67 with an 8 track in it of Jeannie C. Riley - Harper Valley PTA just for looks.

Any chance you still have a 67 radio kicking around?
Thank You
