I installed a hydra in my 2000 F350 last week as well as a new turbo. Everyday and every time since i believe, my service engine soon light pops on after the truck starts, i checked it the first couple times. I got P0683, clear the code, no more light. Ive been reading different threads on various sites and everyone say its a California only code due to a Glow plug module not relay. I have a relay, this much I’m positive and never had the code before. Anyone have a clue what to check, the relay is pretty new and the wait to start light comes on each time. I’m getting tired of seeing a light every time i start my truck
Not an expert at this, but sounds like it may be the chip you ordered is for a Cali model PCM. Remove the chip completely of the PCM and see if the code goes away contact from whom ever you ordered the chip.
I believe NVK4 or 5. Don’t remember which but they’re the same essentially. I start it and run it on 80hp daily, I’m not sure if the tune is php or jelibuilt since I have both and they came preloaded for me

Hook it to HydraFlash. When the chip is connected to HydraFlash, the names of the tunes in each position will be listed. I know that PHP uses the actual hex code of the calibration in the "tune" list and I'm sure most others would do that too. With the box code of the PCM you gave, the hex code of the calibrations SHOULD be VRAA6S3 (PMT1) because that's super-common. If it's not that, let me know what the filenames are and that will point a direction to go.
That #4 and #6 are WRONG. Since you say you start and run in daily (#4), there's your problem.
#4 is a California calibration (going to cause GPCM issues for sure) and #6 is a 49-state F450/550 calibration (won't hurt anything but anybody who sells this stuff (i.e. profits) should know better than mixing calibration hex codes).
I bet #6 shifts pretty early.....
I can change up the tunes even though they’re custom, mods down to the truck but nothing injector or oil related? I don’t really know how early 6 shifts, i stepped on it most of the way and away the truck went, I don’t remember feeling much of a shift though.
All changed out. I appreciate the help cleatus. What difference does a tune designated for a 450/550 have vs a 350? Aside from different gearing and being capable of more weight they’re essentially the same, right?
You'll never notice much of a difference save for shift speeds and 3rd gear deceleration in overdrive.
There are fuel rate changes but you'll never feel it just driving around.
3rd gear decel meaning it holds the gear till it reaches a certain speed then shifts out of gear? I was wondering why it did that since I didn’t have overdrive locked out.
