What’s next?
Hey folks!
Spent the last few months rebuilding a 302 for my 85 f150. Great experience all in all, ripping the motor out, pulling everything apart, hiding from the wife how much money was spent, yada yada! Specially baddad457 was an incredible amount of help through that adventure. Motor is almost done, have a few cosmetic things and need to put my Holley carb rebuild kit to use (dreading that).
So what’s next? Have an 85 f150 4x4 with a f250 cab randomly on it. Bought the truck for 1200 bucks about a year ago and drove it up until the rebuild, got tired of the leaky gaskets and said “what the hell, let’s see what this motor looks like on the inside.” Transfer case is good, tranny is good. Frame is a little suspect, but the body got a hack job ford blue base coat before I bought it, so all rust on that end has been at least delayed. I’m a huge fan of lists, things that need to be worked over one by one. Start with the brakes? Are there any easy rear end disk brake set ups I can troll the junkyard for? Little tid bits of info like that are greatly appreciated. This truck will never be a show stopper, it’ll probably never go fast! It’ll probably get sold for the same 1200 bucks even after I’m done with it. Just looking for advice.
Just so y’all know where my heads at, plan on stripping the engine bay or pulling the bed, not sure if I want to go *** first or head first.
thanks in advance.
