2017 VS 2018

Hi All,

I have quick question looking to get a SD platinum or king ranch and was going for a 2018 untill I found a 2017. The difference between the two is 8K. Is it worth buying the 17? And what changes were made to the engine? I was told the truck will have the current flash. Any other major differences? I usually trade my truck in every 3-4 years. Thanks.

Same truck. Your choice.
I would save the 8K!

My 2018 F350 had a noticable towing improvement over my '17.

I'm looking at an STX for work and the 18s are 6k more than the 17s. I'll gladly pay it. The flash didn't do anything when I got it.

I’d love to know what was done to improve the towing. I haven’t seen any changes that would back that up unless it was just a one on one comparison and it was luck of the draw for one truck over the other.

I had a '17 F-250 Lariat Ultimate and currently have an '18 F-350 Platinum Ultimate. Both CCSB 6.7's w/ 3.55 gears and 20" wheels. I tow a lot and the major difference and the reason I went with the 350 was the beefier suspension. Otherwise there's not a noticeable difference between them that I could discern. For $8k I would go with the '17. My .02.

If the '17 has been on the lot a while (+6ish months) I'd have them change the tires. 8K# can put flat spots on the tires which can ruin the ride.

Exactly it will be two years old. Bit the bullet and got an 18. Had to use my pco by today and the truck had everything I wanted. Sight unseen it's in transport.

If you plan on keeping the truck for a long time or if your a frequent trader (like every 3-5 years) then a 17' for long term save the 8k or get the 18' if frequent trader.
Wish I could have found a 17' but hey either way the truck's a winner, right lol...
