Engine Noise
Engine Noise
Hey guys, been a while, I normally don't get on here due to traveling and whatnot. But I have been dumping loads of money into my 2008 F-350 as of late. Lost 4 coils, replaced all ten, lost a Catalytic Converter, replaced it. Now I have a noise, I am not sure what to call it, whether its a tick or a knock or its something, I am not sure. I pulled my valve cover in drivers side because I thought it could be a rocker arm. The drivers side cam and rockers were in perfect shape. I didn't check the passenger side because it seemed like if there was a bad rocker there would be a miss or grinding noise. Also, I randomly lose my oil pressure while stopped in traffic. If I put it in neutral and back into drive. It comes right back. I am wondering if its either a sending unit or something is seriously wrong with my truck and its about to blow up. When I lost my coils I was on the highway towing a hydraulic dump trailer and doing about 75 mph. It freaked out and acted like there was no power and there was a bad screeching noise and a goofy smell. Shop that I know said that smell is normal when you drop coils. It hasn't done anything of the sort since I replaced my cat, coils and plugs.
I have posted a video for you guys to listen to and input your thoughts. In the video the truck is running at about 1750 rpms. The noise is present from 1200-2700 rpms then it disappears. It only happens when the engine is cruising at whatever engine speed. If I step on the gas to accelerate it disappears entirely. It also isn't present during deceleration.
