2015+ Rear Bumper Mod

Has anyone tried to or installed a 2015+ rear step bumper on a 2004-2008? Considering the swap for my '07 XLT Supercrew.

What step bumper? The body lines don't even line up remotely.

Step bumper. As in rear bumper. Both pretty much rectangular. Only area to worry about body lines is where the '07 bumper wraps around a few inches, which ain't that big a deal. I was wondering primarily if the newer piece was a direct bolt on or if I would need to fabricate some brackets.

No but i have an '05 supercrew and also a 2017 supercrew (company vehicle). I can measure but am pretty sure the whole body on the 2017 is wider.

According to Edmunds the 2015 is one inch wider than the '07, so 1/2 inch on either side won't be a big deal. I'm going to try to find a '15+ in a local wreckers this week and see if I can crawl under and get a look at the frame and bumper mounts.
